Dova dials 9-1-1

Finally at the age of 10 months, Dova is crawling around and getting into all sorts of trouble. Last Friday, at the end of a working at home day, I put the phone down on the couch and she immediately goes over to it and starts pressing the buttons. That's OK, I think to myself, what are the chances that she will press a valid number and also the Talk button? Then I hear the speaker phone go on, a dial tone, and then a whole bunch of numbers going through. I immediately grab the phone and press the Off button. "Silly girl", I say, "You can't really use the phone!"

About 5 minutes later, the phone rings and it is the Pepperell Police Dept.
"Is there a problem?"
"No? My baby was playing with the phone and she must have dialed you by accident! I tried to hang the phone up right away."
Is it possible that Dova dialed 911? Then 10 minutes later, there is a knock on the door. The Pepperell Police in person!
"I'm really sorry, my baby was playing with the phone and she must have dialed 911!" I pointed to the culprit crawling on the floor.
"Do you have it pre-programmed into your phone?"
"Not at all!"
"That's OK, these things happen. Can I have your name and birthdate?"
So that was her first brush with the authorities.
