Photo Hunters - Skinny

Dova and her Ariel doll
Here's (not so skinny) Dova with her impossibly skinny Ariel doll. It's bad enough that the media glamorizes skinny models and celebrities, but bombarding toddlers with these super skinny dolls is disgraceful. Yes, I don't have to buy them, but how can you say no to that face and happy smile? And whose brilliant idea was it to make those tiny shoes for little girls to play with? I've taken the shoes from all her princesses (12 pairs!) and stored them safely away in a separate baggie to satisfy this mom's obsession with not losing pieces. And no, we still haven't found where she stashed the Little Mermaid DVD over a year ago. rolleyes

The Ariel doll is skinny and I'm with you about the way the media glamorizes being too thin. I don't like that either. Your daughter is adorable.

Your Dova is really cute!

I am also against those super skinny dolls. They instill an unpleasant impression to kids. Besides, dolls should be cuddly.

Dova's smile is priceless! :)

My little one has dolls like that too. Does she have several little dresses that you can put on her as well?

Great shot and a wonderful message to go along with it.

Ariel is my daughter's favorite and I totally agree...they really make these dolls so unrealistic! We have those same dolls with the rubber clothes - ACK...I can't stand finding them all over the place. The dresses rip, the shoes get lost and the hair (yes, some have removable hair) often gets sucked up in my vacuum! Great photo - your daughter is adorable - PERFECT size!

Your daughter is just perfect, and the doll - I guess this is why some girls get anorexia - because of the impossible standards ;-)

Have a great week!

Hmmm what is worse....

Stepping on a lego piece in the middle of the night or one of those shoes? :)

And Dova is cuter than Ariel. Hands down.
