Dova's masterpiece

They say that you don't take as many photographs of your second child as your first. I find the opposite to be true. I take more than twice the number of pictures of both kids than from when Adam was her age. Last November I took an all time high of 276 pictures and movies. It could be that my digital camera was new when Adam was a baby (bought just for his arrival!) and I hadn't switched over from the "don't waste film" mentality.

Then again I noticed that poor Dova has not appeared in the blog since last September!! Here she is showcasing her painting she and Daddy made at the Hands-On Art Museum in Shirley, MA.

Oh no...you caught me. That is, your comment about most people taking more pictures of their first child than their second is very true for me.

I'd like to say I have an excuse that I was in my "darkroom" period of life when my first child was born, but the technology of digital photography has only made it easier and easier to take photos....and you know what, I noticed this "problem" I had a long time ago. (but it was too late :-)

It's not so bad though, because I really took a crazy number of pictures of my first daughter, and perhaps a slighly more sane amount of my second. I felt bad about that for a while, but in both cases, we have just about every milestone, event and in some cases blink of an eye documented and put away in safe keeping. (for the grandkids to look at some day so they will see their mommy when she was their age :-)
